I’m going to do it
In this stage you might face a natural tendency to delay. How to gather the courage to really act? Different thoughts or feelings can get in the way.
Maybe you are afraid of making mistakes. Or, you are scared by the unknown. Or, you might think that your idea is not good enough. And: what will others think about it? All these seem like reasons not to act. However, you’ve already come this far. You can push through a little discomfort to the finishing line.
Write down: What is the worst what can happen?
If you are afraid of making mistakes, it can be helpful to see who can be assisters. Sharing ideas can minimize fear.

If the unknown scares you, it is helpful to make an action plan. Go to: In Action (further on this page).
If you think you don ’t have the time to develop your idea, talk with your team leader. How important are new ideas for the organization? Talk about your tasks, communicate.
What is also helpful:
- Break your plan into small pieces. Making small steps is less scary.
- Ask yourself if you are able to say no to the things which keep you from your plan.
- Celebrate successes. Especially the small ones. It builds trust to help you continue.
