Bundle Information
20 min.
Pen and paper, markers (color)
Alone or with others
In this exercise you bundle all the information: what do you know and what not? You also take another perspective.
Bundle
Summarize all the information.
Try to visualize the information.
Don’t think too quickly that you understand the problem.
It might be interesting to hear the perspective of an outsider (especially someone who is not involved).
Visualize
Put a large piece of paper on the wall.
Write down keywords and try to draw each keyword.
Or try to build the idea with Lego: what are the key issues in this situation.
Look at it and take a step back.
Go for a walk, sleep on it…
Someone else’s View
Invite a colleague, or someone from another department: the housekeeper, the receptionist, the ICT-techie. Show them your drawing or Lego construct. Show all the summarized information. Ask their opinion. How would they describe the problem?
Desired Direction for the Solution
Talk with the problem-owner, the client or the manager. Do you share the same key issues and the same conclusion?
It is important to dive together into the direction of the desired outcome.
