This is an exercise to explore all the people who are involved, and how they face the situation. Which key figures are important for you?
If there are a lot of people involved in the challenge, it is important to make an plan of the key-figures.
Often, it is desirable to involve these key figures at an early stage of the process. It is important because they can deliver their expertise.
Besides, it strengthens involvement and you create support for the “yet-to-be-developed” solution.
Key figures
Write on separate post-its:
- Who plays an important role in this situation?
- Who has relevant responsibility?
- Who has influence (if we think of opinion formation)?
- Who might profit from this solution?
Position
Take a big piece of paper and draw 3 circles inside each other. The circle in the middle (smallest) is for key-figures who are closely involved. The next circle is for the key figures who are not very-closely involved. The outside circle is for key-figures who are the least involved.
Take the post-its with the names of the key-figures and place them in one of the circles based on their involvement now.
In the right spot?
Is everyone in the right spot? Do you want key-figures from the outer circle to be more in the middle in the future? Or, key figures from the middle to be more on the outside?
Think about actions, how to manage this “key-figure movement”? Ask for support. Together you might come up with more ideas.
