Improving myself
Developing ideas means that you have to see the value of an idea. Don’t judge too quickly. Look. Examine the elements that can be strengthened.
Be conscious of your assumptions. Thoughts like ‘is there anybody waiting for this idea?’, ‘is it technically not possible?’, ‘it will be too expensive!’, et cetera can hinder you greatly. Recognize your negative assumptions, so that you can ‘park’ them.
Focus in this stage on your goal. What are you doing? What do you want to achieve? What do you have to do for that?
Recognize and acknowledge the value of this stage.
Most people tend to go to quickly, causing good ideas to ‘never see daylight’.
Slow down. What is new? Use the exercises to become better at recognizing the value of an idea. The Big Pitfall is being too fast; take your time!
If you want to become better at this stage, it is important to reflect on what you are doing:
Ask yourself questions:
- What am I doing?
- Do I succeed in this manner?
- What works?
- What doesn’t work?
- What can I do different the next time?
- Who is good at developing ideas? Can I collaborate, so that I can learn from that person?
