Improving myself
It is important to use your imagination and playfulness when you want to generate new ideas. Everything is possible. Be curious. Wonder, and look around with new eyes. Especially, the connections between things, which don’t seem to fit at first sight, can give brilliant solutions. Do you know some examples? Otherwise search for some on internet. Your inner critic may stand in the way, he can hinder new ideas. It is important to recognize your inner critic and to learn to ignore him (temporarily). It may help to speak out loud and to ask your critic not to get involved in this part of the process.
Take the divergent rules seriously. Practice, practice, practice. Take a regularly a task from the list ‘Goodmorning brain’ and generate as many ideas as possible. See the progression.
Be focused. You want to generate new ideas and that means that you need another way of thinking. If you want to select ideas it is important to see the value of an idea. Look beyond the idea. Can it be developed? Which potential does it have?
Slow down, don’t rush. That is when the most potential ideas might get lost. Relax and explore their value with positive affirmation.
Improving yourself means reflection.
Ask yourself questions:
- What am I doing?
- Is this a good way?
- What works? What doesn’t work?
- What can I do differently the next time?
- Who is good at doing this stage? Can I collaborate with or learn from them?
